We’re all feeling the pinch right now but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy a good drop on a budget. Deliciously affordable, Dan Murphy’s has launched the Winemakers Limited Release #922 Coonawarra Shiraz 2019. At $12.99 a bottle (or $9 for Dan Murphy’s members), this new shiraz offers the delicious taste of premium Coonawarra Shiraz for a fantastically affordable price.
This reasonably priced red features a blend of vintage parcels of Coonawarra Shiraz from premium vineyards across the region and scored 93/100 points by Dan Murphy’s Wine Panel.
These parcels are vinified separately and matured in a combination of new and used American and French oak barrels. Selected parcels are matured in stainless steel tanks to retain the vibrant fresh fruit characteristics of the wine.
“Each parcel is carefully blended to create this quality wine that has a complex palate with generosity of fruit and subtle cedar oak notes, that let the expression from the vineyard shine,” said winemaker, Matt Reimann.

Coonawarra, with its iron-rich terra rossa (Italian for red soil) and cooler climate, produces exceptional Shiraz, renowned for its elegant, refined style.
“Winemakers Limited Release 922 Coonawarra Shiraz, with its delicious drinkability, is a wonderful example of this much-loved South Australian variety. It offers exceptional value for money, to enjoy now or cellar for later,” said John Cornforth, Dan Murphy’s assistant category manager, cellar release and value bins.
Winemakers Limited Release 922 Coonawarra Shiraz Tasting Notes
An unassuming lightly spiced Coonawarra mid-weight at first, but time in the glass reveals aromas of savoury red and black fruit and toasty oak. This wine is tasty and easy to enjoy. The finale is smooth and the balance impeccable.
This affordable shiraz is now available to purchase in-store or online at Dan Murphy’s. Find out more by visiting Dan Murphy’s.
