For anyone planning a summer weekend in Orange, or locals looking for an excuse to spend an evening outdoors, Mayfield Vineyard is hosting an Aperitivo Evening on Saturday 7 February, bringing an Italian early evening ritual to the vines. Guests can enjoy wine, small plates, live music and a long stretch of late afternoon light, all set among the rows of vines.
Mayfield’s team describe the evening as a relaxed and social gathering. As guests arrive, they collect their welcome drink, find a spot among the vineyard and settle in as the sun drops.

Food for the night comes via Pellegrini’s, with a menu that spotlights Italian flavours such as eggplant caponata spooned onto crostini, grissini for picking at, skewers of fior di latte with cherry tomatoes and basil, and whipped ricotta finished with lemon zest and herbs. Tickets include one of these dishes, with more available to purchase throughout the evening.
Mayfield wines will be pouring across the afternoon and early evening, giving guests the chance to revisit favourites or to try something new without committing to a full tasting. A spritz on arrival kicks the night off, but wine takes centre stage as evening progresses.
For those staying in Orange, transport has been taken care of. A return bus will run from the Orange Visitor Centre to the vineyard for an additional fee, making it easy to enjoy the night without worrying about the drive home.
