If you love Barra burgers, then you might want to check out Bobby’s in Cronulla – a new seafood restaurant with a Mediterranean influence. Situated at the southern end of Cronulla’s Esplanade, the restaurant follows a philosophy of serving ocean-to-plate dishes and operates for breakfast and lunch every day, as well as for dinner from Thursday to Sunday.

The 115-seat venue, designed by Tom Mark Henry, combines playfulness and elegance. The design highlights Bobby’s special seaside location, featuring a warm and invigorating space with banquette seating, the use of natural stone Zaragoza and Jurassic marble, and expansive north-facing views overlooking Cronulla Beach.

Executive chef Pablo Tordesillas (ex-executive chef Otto & Tottis) and head chef Shaun Baker (Pier, Yan Restaurant, Bills Restaurants), have designed a menu with a modern ocean-to-plate ethos. Dishes from the opening menu include: Bobby’s brioche prawn roll; Cantabrian anchovies on toast; ocean trout crudo; king ocean prawns ‘a la sal’; linguine with prawns, cuttlefish, garlic, chili and pangrattato; roasted eggplant, tomato sugo, pine nuts, capers and currants; a 1kg rib-eye with green peppercorn sauce; and whole snapper, burnt butter, citrus, caper berries. Desserts include a lemon tiramisu and Bobby’s pavlova. 

The beverage program developed by Alex Cameron (ex Franca, Parlar, Armorica) heroes local and Mediterranean wines with a focus on fresh and saline whites like Albarino, and Mencia and other light reds served chilled. The cocktail list leads with light and fresh styles to complement seafood dishes including spritzes like ‘The Cello’ (Limoncello, Prosecco, Cucumber, Soda), highballs like ‘Paloma Thyme’ (Thyme Tequila, Ruby Grapefruit, Agave and Soda) and a refreshing ‘Seaside Negroni’ (Pineapple Campari, Coconut Vodka, Kaffir Lime, Vermouth). 

Owned by Cronulla locals Adam and Kylie Micola, who also manage the Bangor Tavern, Bobby’s is a diverse establishment showcasing a seafood-centric menu that complements its distinctive beachside setting.
