BWS Cool Room is making its return to Sydney/Eora on Thursday 30 October, bringing with it a collision of sound, art and culture led by some of the most exciting names in global and local music. This year’s event is headlined by UK garage trailblazer DJ EZ, joined by Aotearoa’s dynamic duo Lady Shaka and HALFQUEEN, in what promises to be a night of unfiltered energy and unexpected moments.

The 2025 edition transforms a secret Sydney location (revealed only to ticket holders in the week of the event) into a late-night, multi-room experience curated by BWS in partnership with tastemakers Astral People and the bold new Johnnie Walker Black Ruby blackberry and soda serve. Entry is free for those who register, but numbers are limited.

Guests will begin their night stepping through a virtual BWS Cool Room, an immersive digital art installation by Sam Price, before entering the venue itself. On arrival, a complimentary Johnnie Walker Black Ruby sets the tone for the evening, with the serve available throughout the night as the party unfolds across multiple rooms, each dedicated to a distinct corner of club culture.

Headliner DJ EZ, a pioneer of UK garage since the ’90s, is celebrated for his electrifying sets that blend garage, house, grime and bassline with unmatched precision. His Boiler Room set is often hailed as one of the greatest in the genre, and his ability to unite generations of dance music fans is what makes his sets so magnetic.

Joining him are Lady Shaka and HALFQUEEN, two of Aotearoa’s fiercest creative forces whose performances merge sound, identity and activism. Lady Shaka’s sets weave together Pacific influences and queer celebration, while HALFQUEEN brings an unrelenting energy rooted in community and cultural pride.

The local lineup is equally impressive. C.FRIM’s genre-bending sound draws from her Ghanaian-Filipina roots, layering heavy bass with dancehall and underground club influences. Yuggera, Muninjali and Kullalli DJ dameeeela has become one of the country’s most in-demand selectors, known for her euphoric festival sets and deep connection to Country and culture.

Eora’s own Kilimi will deliver her signature fusion of ballroom and nostalgic rhythms, while Sydney garage collective Dayshift, represented by Bella Bella, Bouki and Obeido, round out the bill with high-energy beats straight from the city’s underground.

Tickets are free but strictly limited, with VIP prizes also up for grabs, including flights and accommodation for interstate winners.
