Cuckoo Callay in Surry Hills is closing, after six years of dishing up local favourites such as the Lemon and White Chocolate Hotcakes – which will be making a final comeback before closing on June 11.

Other old favourites that will return for its last hurrah include the iconic Return of the MacDaddy – an almost-too-good-to-be-true combination of bacon, and mac and cheese all stuffed into a flaky croissant. Another crowd favourite, the Lamb Rendang Roti Tacos, will also be making a special appearance, for those feeling a little savoury about the departure of Cuckoo Callay.

“It’s bittersweet to bid farewell to Cuckoo Callay,” says Ibrahim Moubadder, Co-Founder of ESCA Group. “The venue wriggled its way onto Crown Street and brought locals a quirky combo of delicious food and great memories. However, we do believe it’s time to embark on a new adventure that pushes the boundaries and challenges the ordinary. We’re so excited to revitalise this space and redefine our presence in Surry Hills, creating an exciting and unique experience that will resonate with our loyal community and the people of Sydney.”
