Craft enthusiasts mark your calendars because the Craft & Quilt Fair Sydney is set to take place from Wednesday, July 3 to Saturday, July 6.

Hosted at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Darling Harbour, the fair brings together some of the brightest stars in the crafting world. One of the headliners is the incredible Danny Amazonas from Taiwan, whose quilts are nothing short of breathtaking. Danny’s work is known for its unique collage technique, where he meticulously arranges small pieces of bold and contrasting fabrics into stunning, mosaic-like masterpieces.

Australian favorite, Debbie Hatumale-Uy, will be on hand to show you how to personalise gifts and homewares using cutting-edge techniques and equipment like direct-to-film and heat transfer vinyl. Also, the multi-talented singer Kate Ceberano will showcase her beautiful quilts and sign copies of her memoir, “Unsung,” on Thursday, July 4.

The fair is packed with opportunities to learn and create. You can dive into the art of paper flower making with Jo Neville, explore the Japanese repair art of Kintsugi with Jun Morooka, or craft textile mats with Lynn Pavey. The Australian Calligraphy Society will be there to guide you through the elegant art of calligraphy, and Lorena Uriarte will introduce you to Kawandi hand quilting.

Feeling adventurous? Join the ‘Make & Take’ classes where you can get hands-on experience in needle felting, creating wool felt jewellery, sashiko stitching brooches, or folk embroidery basics. There’s also a session on designing repeat patterns for fabric, perfect for those looking to create custom textiles.

For tech-savvy crafters, Brother Australia will be running free ScanNCut sessions. These sessions will teach you how to use this innovative cutting machine to work with paper, fabric, and rhinestones, adding a modern twist to your crafting skills.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a newbie looking to dive into the world of crafts, there’s something for everyone.
