Come join the fun on Oxford Street and the Darlinghurst precinct when it comes to life on Thursday 13 October over four epic days during the inaugural Sydney Shimmer Festival. The festival is free and features vibrant streetscapes, performances, live entertainment, food and drink, as well as a range of activities and workshops for kids.
Visitors are encouraged to come sparkled and shimmered-up and celebrate the rich culture of the Darlinghurst precinct.
Michael Rodrigues, 24-hour Economy Commissioner says the Sydney Shimmer Festival marks the beginning of a new era for the Oxford Street and Darlinghurst precinct, which will contribute to the vibrancy of the City and the night-time economy.

Sydney Shimmer Festival lineup
Sydney Shimmer Festival will include interactive, live performances by Melbourne neo-soul boss WILSN; Wadawurrung man and October Records producer Moss; high-energy cabaret, comedy and dance show Aerobicide; drag superstar of your dreams Jimi The Kween; show diva and ultimate premiere party hostess BeAvantGarde; dynamic local duo hygge; and rising star Clarissa Mei. Vocal looper and beatboxer Tanya George will bring electro soul-pop vibes, and Oxford Street royalty DJ Sveta will make an appearance on the decks, with a full programme and line-up to be announced in the coming weeks.
The festival also features The Carpenters from Kempsey – Darren & Sharon Carpenter, who will take you on a hilarious journey whilst re-creating the wonderful sounds of those “Other Carpenters”. Sing-a-long with the hits – Close To You, Yesterday Once More, Ticket to Ride, Rainy Days and Mondays, Calling Occupants, Jambalaya, Mr Postman, Top Of The World, Superstar, Goodbye To Love, Only Yesterday, There’s a Kind Of Hush, Love is Surrender, We’ve Only Just Begun and many more.
Catch the show and enjoy a 3-course dinner at Claire’s Kitchen at le Salon, 35 Oxford Street in Surry Hills on the 13th October from 6pm – 9.30pm. Tickets are $105 per person.
