Sydney’s late-night favourite, Goros, is turning 11 and it’s celebrating in true Goros style: loud, neon and a little bit chaotic. From 5 November to 6 December, the Surry Hills bar is going full 'konbini' mode, transforming into a Japanese convenience store-inspired playground packed with snacks and slushies.

Taking cues from Japan’s round-the-clock corner stores, the 'konbini' takeover brings a burst of nostalgia and energy to the venue. Goros’ official 11th birthday party kicks off on 7 November. The night will serve up dancing, giveaways and late-night antics alongside $7 Kirin Hyoketsu schooners and $11 Hyoketsu Slushies. Later in the month, the much-loved Goros Castle returns on 3 December.

The food lineup nods to classic Japanese convenience fare with a Goros twist. Tuna Onigiri, Yakisoba-Pan and the Fried Prawn Noodle Sando headline the savoury side, while Bento Boxes feature Karaage, Pork Katsu or Teriyaki Tofu options. On the sweeter end, the Strawberry Sando (a fluffy, cream-filled sandwich) makes its first appearance.

Behind the bar, the team has created a limited-edition drinks list that includes sake, yuzu and cold brew flavours. Highlights include the Mando Sando, Roba Soda and Pocari Pine Slushie.

Guests can also score a scratch card with every Hyoketsu Slushie purchase, unlocking instant prizes or one of Goros’ mystery giveaways. And for those who love a photo moment, the konbini photo booth will be running all month.
