HONOR is about to hit Australian shores with two new smartphones (or what HONOR call, 'intelligent' phones), driven by on-device AI and a strong design focus. The headline device is the Magic V5, a book-style foldable phone that is the slimmest of its kind, followed by the 400 Pro, which focuses on AI-powered camera tools for everyday users.
The Magic V5 stands out immediately for its profile. Foldables usually carry extra heft, yet this one measures 8.8 millimetres while still managing a sizeable 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery. That chemistry choice gives it higher energy density and long-term durability, meaning day-to-day use shouldn’t feel like a balancing act between performance and battery anxiety.

Inside, MagicOS 10 runs with Google’s Gemini assistant baked in. The phone’s twin display, a 7.95-inch inner screen and a 6.43-inch outer screen, both work with a stylus, which makes it surprisingly handy for jotting notes, sketching, or marking up documents on the fly. Multi-window tools have been expanded so you can keep three apps open at once, which suits those moments when you’re cross-checking emails, joining a call, and browsing online all at once.

The camera setup is designed with photography fans in mind. Between the periscope telephoto lens, a light-sensitive main camera, and wide-angle coverage, the V5 uses HONOR’s AI imaging engine to sharpen portraits, stabilise zoom, and pick up motion with more accuracy. It attempts to handle the technical heavy lifting so you can focus on the shot.
While the focus of the Magic V5 is productivity and design, the HONOR 400 Pro is centred on creativity without the learning curve. Its on-device AI can take still photos and automatically generate short video clips, which makes it appealing if you enjoy sharing moments quickly without too much editing.
The camera tools go further with motion-preserving photos, collage options, and smart cleanup features such as removing reflections or unwanted background elements. It’s all processed locally on the device, which keeps things fast and avoids relying on extra apps. MagicOS 9 brings its own set of AI tricks too, from translation to summarising notes and simplifying daily tasks.

Its silicon-carbon battery comes in at 5300mAh, supporting long sessions of browsing, streaming and calls. HONOR claims the battery retains strong health even after several years of everyday use, which is reassuring for anyone planning to keep their phone longer than a single upgrade cycle.
Alongside the two phones, HONOR is also releasing a tablet, smartwatch and wireless earbuds in Australia as part of its broader expansion. The company’s local partners say they’re investing for the long run, with a focus on building customer support and matching the standard Australians expect from premium tech.
The full range arrives in Australia on 4 December and will be available at Harvey Norman, with pricing as follows:
