Celebrate summer with this refreshing spritz designed to leave a lasting impression at any gathering – Tahbilk’s Sticky Spritz. Tahbilk – Victoria’s oldest family-owned winery established in 1860 – has introduced a recipe that’s guaranteed to be a hit with spritz lovers.
Inspired by the enduring spritz trend, cellar door manager Holly Cusworth experimented with various wines and flavours to create this unique combination. By blending Tahbilk’s late-picked Cane Cut Marsanne with its NV Coueslant Chardonnay Pinot sparkling, Holly discovered a winning fusion.
Envision vibrant tropical and marmalade notes complemented by the sweet aroma of honeysuckle and a crisp acidity from the Cane Cut Marsanne. The sparkling wine contributes melon and red berry undertones, resulting in a harmonious combination.
“The combination of sweet and fruity flavours in this spritz is delicious but not cloying. The acid in the sparkling cuts through, creating a not-too-sweet summer sensation. It’s my new ‘go to’ drink, but really it’s so special as we’ve never really served or sold a drink like this before, combining two wines from our classic portfolio,” says Holly.
How to make Tahbilk’s Sticky Spritz
- Half-fill a wine glass with plenty of ice and add the following:
- Tahbilk Cane Cut Marsanne
- Tahbilk NV Coueslant Chardonnay Pinot sparkling
- Top with soda water
- Add a squeeze of fresh orange juice and stir
- Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of thyme and enjoy!
