Yayoi, the Tokyo-born teishoku restaurant dating back to 1886, blends over a century of culinary tradition with a modern edge. The menu spans more than 30 dishes, from sukiyaki and chicken hitsumabushi to matcha desserts, all served on beautifully crafted Japanese crockery. A new happy hour launches next week, running daily from 1pm to 6pm, featuring $6 beers and wines, plus a $12.50 Premium Malts Set for those easing into the afternoon.

Just a few steps away, Moyashi brings a lively hot pot buffet experience to Darling Square. With seating for 77 guests, it offers two buffet tiers priced at $58 and $78, featuring up to 56 sides, unlimited soft drinks, and standout ingredients like wagyu beef and fresh seafood. It’s a social, hands-on dining style that suits the area’s open, communal atmosphere.

Don’to introduces Sydney to a retro Japanese diner inspired by Tokyo’s Showa era. From the team behind Nakano Darling, the eatery serves quick, comforting donburi bowls including Gyudon, Stamina Don, and Teriyaki Chicken Don.
