Each day, across Australia and New Zealand, 111 people are diagnosed with a ‘Below the Belt’ cancer. These cancers, which include prostate, testicular, bladder, kidney, and penile cancers, have touched too many lives. But this October, the Australia & New Zealand Urogenital & Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) is inviting you to help raise funds for cancer research by participating in 111 Your Way.

What is 111 Your Way? Unlike other events that dictate the challenge, 111 Your Way puts the power in your hands. From October 1st to November 1st, you’re encouraged to take on a challenge centred around the number 111. You choose the activity, you choose the intensity. Whether you’re looking to walk 111 kilometres, complete 111 squats, or even perform 111 minutes of hula-hooping, the choice is entirely yours!

The aim is simple: to raise funds for vital clinical trials that could transform lives. ANZUP’s mission is to improve outcomes for those battling ‘Below the Belt’ cancers by focusing on priority research areas that can lead to better treatments and, ultimately, better lives. To date, nearly 8,000 patients have been part of ANZUP's 33 clinical trials, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in cancer care. But there’s still so much more to be done, and here’s how you can help.

Why join 111 Your Way? Aside from supporting an incredibly worthy cause, it’s also the perfect way to shake off those winter blues and welcome the warmer weather. This initiative is about coming together as a community, each doing what we can, where we can. It’s about making a difference in a way that suits our own lifestyles, fitness levels, and interests.

Maybe you’re up for 111 push-ups or attempts at them; perhaps 111 minutes of dancing is more your style. You could swim, cycle, or even complete 111 household chores! The options are endless, and the only limit is your imagination.

Throughout October, ANZUP will shine a spotlight on the most creative and inspiring challenges undertaken by participants.

So, what’s your 111? Register today and make your mark in the fight against ‘Below the Belt’ cancers.
