The team at KOI Dessert Bar has collaborated with Speyside’s Benriach Whisky to create an indulgent, whisky-infused take on the classic hot cross bun. Dubbed the Scotch Cross Bun, this limited-edition dessert reimagines an Easter favourite through KOI’s signature craftsmanship.

Instead of the familiar spiced dough, this creation features a velvety vanilla mousse infused with warming spices including nutmeg and cinnamon. But the real magic lies in the currants, which have been soaked in Benriach’s The Original Ten Single Malt Scotch whisky, adding depth and complexity to every bite. The result? The Koi x Benriach Scotch Cross Bun is priced at $22 and available now until 17 April at KOI Dessert Bar locations in Chippendale and Ryde in Sydney, as well as the Melbourne store on Queen Street. Each purchase comes with a complimentary 50ml bottle of Benriach The Original Ten, the whisky that inspired it all.
