Kyiv Social, part of the Plate It Forward Hospitality Group, is launching a new dining experience on 13 November called Babusya’s Lane. Named after the affectionate Ukrainian term for ‘grandmother’, Babusya’s Lane celebrates the enduring strength and love that grandmothers symbolise.

‘Babu’s Hour’ will run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, featuring $6 Ukrainian-inspired snacks including Skinny Dip - a smoky roasted zucchini, carrot, and tomato dip, and Pampuskhy, garlic-buttered Ukrainian bread. For those craving a unique sip, there’s the Kyiv Compote, a summery Ukrainian punch bowl perfect for sharing, along with Young Henry's Ukrainian Lager and local wines.

A $59 set menu featuring six dishes that showcase Ukraine’s rich culinary heritage will also be on offer. The menu includes classics like handmade dumplings, a giant Kyiv, and the irresistible Ukrainian Honey Cake. Opt for the $40 horilka pairing—a tasting of house-infused vodka shots in flavours like pickle, cherry, and hot honey—for a fun, authentic touch. Every set menu meal purchased does good beyond the table, funding meals for orphanages in Ukraine and for those in need locally.

Since opening in October 2023, Kyiv Social has become a haven of support and opportunity for newly arrived Ukrainians, welcoming over 25 refugees into its workforce. In collaboration with Plate It Forward, they’ve made it their mission to provide new beginnings through training and employment, with over 10,000 hours dedicated to this initiative. Babusya’s Lane is a part of this larger effort, with every meal served and every hour worked making a difference for the community.
