Bondi Beach is home to a new pasta house, Lola’s Italian and Bar (previously Lola’s Level 1), serving fun and elegant Italian classics along with a provocatively curated wine and cocktail list. Located above Pacific Bondi Beach, the new venue is inviting and relaxed. Guests can pull up a seat at the marble bar for a quick drink and snack or enjoy a leisurely meal in the dining room or the terrazzo while enjoying panoramic views of iconic Bondi Beach.
Marco Ambrosino (former Fratelli Paradiso and 10 William St co-owner) and his business partner Manny Spinola (Grand Pacific Group) are heading the new venture, with Head Chef Toby Stansfield curating the menu.
Key menu highlights include the Semolina Spaghetti with Vongole and ‘nduja; King Prawn Risotto; Vitello Tonnato; Octopus ‘alla amatriciana’ and classic Cotoletta Milanese. The venue will also be offering a ‘Pranzo Pronto’ three-course lunch special for $49 per person as part of its launch, from Friday to Sunday from 12pm – 4pm.
The wine and beverage menu is constantly evolving and offers a range of varieties from crisp Pinot Grigios to salty Sardinian Vermentinos. For those who prefer a cocktail, you won’t be disappointed with crowd favourites such as Little Italy, Negroni Confusi and the classic Spicy Coconut Margarita.
“At Lola’s Italian and Bar, I am doing what comes naturally and uninhibited to me. That is, being generous and genuine to anyone that walks through the doors of my current eating and drinking home. I have built my reputation on guest focus and good nature. I will always be grateful and gracious that I am still able to offer my hospitality to others,” says Marco.
Manny adds, “We hope for Lola’s to become an iconic Bondi classic Italian restaurant, adding to the vibrant tapestry of Bondi’s dining scene. Lola’s is for the locals, with a spirit of generosity, integrity at its core and of course delicious food and vino.”
