On October 19th, from 10am to 4pm, Australians have the opportunity to donate quality pre-loved clothes during the 2024 Red Cross x Uber Clothing Drive. The nationwide clothing drive offers a free collection service, using ‘Uber Package,’ to pick up your donation bags and deliver them directly to Red Cross Shop locations.

Recent data from Red Cross x Uber has shed light on the staggering $20 billion worth of unworn clothing sitting idle in Australian wardrobes. These clothes, often forgotten and unused can help support the essential, life-changing work of the Red Cross.
This initiative is making it easier than ever for you to turn those unworn garments into something meaningful. Just gather up your pre-loved pieces, and Uber will handle the rest, ensuring your donations reach Red Cross shops where they can be sold to raise vital funds.
How to donate
It’s easy! Give your wardrobe a good spring clean. Gather your quality pre-loved items into a bag or box, no heavier than 20kg, so it can comfortably sit in the boot of a midsize car.
- Open the Uber app
- Scroll to the Red Cross Clothing Drive image, and tap
- You should see 'Red Cross Clothing Drive’ set as the drop-off spot
- If you're in an eligible city the Red Cross Clothing Drive promotion should automatically apply, so check that the trip is showing as a $0 amount
- Confirm!
If you can't see the tile select > Package > type in 'Red Cross Shop' > Pick the first option shown > Confirm
