Roborock has built a reputation for clever cleaning tech, and its latest release, the H60 Hub Ultra cordless vacuum, proves just how far smart design can go. It’s powerful, thoughtfully engineered and genuinely easy to live with. After testing it around the house, here are some of the key features that stood out.

The Roborock H60 Hub Ultra at a glance

  • 210AW suction power for deep, reliable cleaning across carpets and hard floors without changing heads.
  • Up to 90 minutes of runtime on a single charge in eco-mode; however, this reduces significantly if you switch to a more powerful suction setting.
  • Auto-empty dock that clears dust into a sealed 3L bag in 10 seconds with up to 100 days of storage.
  • Ergonomic dock height (848mm) for easy placement without heavy lifting.
  • Five-stage filtration system that captures 99.95 per cent of microdust and allergens.
  • Anti-tangle brush that prevents hair from wrapping around the roller.
  • Green dust detection light for spotting hidden dirt.
  • Telescopic wand and detachable battery for flexible, lightweight use.

First impressions

The H60 Hub Ultra arrives neatly packaged with a clear, easy setup. Once assembled, it feels surprisingly light and well-balanced, not top-heavy like some cordless vacuums. The materials are sturdy without being bulky, and the controls are intuitive enough that you can start cleaning once the unit has been fully charged in its dock (it doesn't come fully charged and it's recommended you do this before its first use).

The controls are straightforward, the display clear, and the whole thing feels more intuitive than techy. You don’t need to fumble through settings or download an app to start cleaning.

Performance and power

Let’s start with the basics: suction. With 210AW of power, the H60 Hub Ultra easily pulls up embedded grit from rugs and dust along skirting boards without feeling heavy in the hand. On hard floors, it glides smoothly without scattering crumbs or dust back across the room.

The brush head uses a clever combination of rubber strips and soft fibres that move at 7,200 beats per minute to dislodge and sweep up dirt. It handles transitions between surfaces without skipping a beat. There’s no need to change settings or swap heads.

The H60 claims to give up to 90 minutes of runtime, depending on the mode. Presumably, this is if you just use low (or Eco) mode. I found a combination of mid-range (Balanced) and high (Turbo) suction worked well on carpet as well as the tiles, which did deplete the battery in less than 90 minutes, but I still managed to get the entire house vacuumed before it ran out of battery power. The detachable battery means you can double that time if you choose to buy a spare, though realistically, one full charge comfortably covers a decent-sized space.

What’s particularly noticeable is how consistent the suction remains. Many cordless vacuums lose power as the battery drains, but Roborock’s 9-cyclone separation system keeps airflow steady, preventing clogs and maintaining suction right to the end.

The H60 doesn’t come with auto-suction (this is where the vacuum automatically adjusts suction depending on need), so you need to manually switch between the three suction settings. For me, that’s not a major deal breaker, but it may be an important feature for some consumers.

Auto-empty dock

This is where the H60 really sets itself apart. Once you’ve finished cleaning, you dock it and that’s it. The vacuum empties itself in about ten seconds, transferring everything into a hygienically sealed 3 litre dust bag that holds up to 100 days of debris. A pack of 12 replacement dust bags can be purchased from the Roborock website for $69.90.

It also recharges automatically, so it’s always ready for the next clean. The dock’s height (848mm) and the retractable wand make docking smooth. It’s an ergonomic design detail that saves you from bending or awkwardly aligning the unit every time.

Smart details that make a difference

A standout feature is the green dust detection light, which spans a 140-degree angle to illuminate debris you might otherwise miss. It might sound gimmicky, but it’s actually a practical addition, particularly on tiled surfaces. Once you see what’s left behind under normal lighting, it’s hard to go back.

The anti-tangle brush is another highlight. It features a curved shark-tooth design paired with a fibre-rubber roller to capture and separate hair, ensuring you won’t pull out clumps after every clean. This feature alone makes it worth considering for pet owners or anyone with long hair.

For finer cleaning, the motorised mini brush works well on upholstery and mattresses, while the 2-in-1 crevice tool gets into those narrow spaces that usually collect dust. The attachments store neatly in the dock, keeping everything in one place. It’s a small detail, but it makes the setup look tidy and organised.

Filtration system

Beyond visible dirt, Roborock has put serious thought into air cleanliness. The five-stage filtration system, including a HEPA filter, traps 99.95 per cent of microdust particles as small as 0.3 microns. That’s pollen, dander and fine debris all securely contained. Combined with the sealed dust bags that capture 99 per cent of bacteria, the system ensures nothing unpleasant escapes back into the air.

Noise level

The H60 is also quieter than expected, especially given its power. It’s not silent, but it’s easily low enough to use while someone is watching TV or on the phone in another room. It’s a small but appreciated bonus.

Maintenance

It's recommended you clean the dust bin, filter cartridge module and air vent filter every four to six months. This can be done by removing the parts, giving it a quick wash and then leaving all three pieces out to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. When the 3 litre dust bag is full and needs replacing, the dust evacuation indicator on the tower will flash orange. Also check the multi-surface brush roller on a regular basis for obstructions by simply detaching the head from the main unit, turning the tab on the roller cap and sliding the roller out.

The verdict

At its regular RRP of $999, the Roborock H60 Hub Ultra sits in the premium tier and that price point could make some buyers hesitate. But with the current sale price of $499, it becomes an entirely different proposition. For under $500, you’re getting a genuinely powerful cordless vacuum with smart features (including the auto-empty dock). It’s an excellent opportunity to grab a top-tier model at mid-range value, and it easily justifies the investment.

For anyone looking to simplify home cleaning, especially busy households, pet owners or allergy sufferers, the H60 Hub Ultra hits the mark. It’s neat, lightweight, and thoughtfully designed.
