This new location, the third in Tokyo and part of Single O's decade-long journey in Japan, offers a blend of high-quality coffee and convenience that's hard to find anywhere else. The star of the show? The Freepour-Coffee-On-Tap system, a cutting-edge self-serve setup that allows customers to enjoy rotating blends and single origins at their own pace. Alongside this, you'll find their signature espresso offerings, featuring the much-loved Reservoir blend and a rotating selection of single origins perfect for espresso and long black fans.

For those who believe good coffee should always be paired with great food, Single O Shibuya delivers. The menu takes cues from traditional Japanese cuisine while giving a nod to Australian comfort food. Think Tokyo BAE rolls that marry Japan’s beloved egg salad with the classic Aussie bacon and egg roll, or the Ham It Up Toastie, a delicious fusion of Parklet sourdough, ham, provolone, vintage cheddar, and curried tomato sauce. And if you’re a fan of the iconic banana bread from their Surry Hills cafe, you’ll love the Shibuya version, made with house-made Espresso Butter Banana Bread, featuring espresso-infused local artisan butter.

Single O's New Shibuya Coffee Bar

Behind this exciting expansion are Yu and Mamiko Yamamoto, Single O legends who have been pivotal in bringing the brand's ethos to Japan. Yu, the Japan General Manager, has been with Single O for over 15 years and brings a wealth of expertise as a Roaster, Q Grader, Cup Of Excellence judge, and Brewers Cup place winner. Their deep connection with both the Australian and Japanese coffee scenes ensures that the Shibuya coffee bar is a perfect blend of both worlds.

In keeping with Single O’s strong commitment to sustainability, the Shibuya location introduces a new, more eco-friendly approach to takeaway service. Encouraging customers to opt for reusable cups, the cafe offers coffee starting at 400 yen for those who bring their own.

For those who prefer a single-use cup, there’s a modest 30 yen surcharge. For the eco-conscious traveller, Single O also provides several reusable cup options for purchase, including the budget-friendly "Cheap N Cheerful Reusable" bamboo cup and the sleek Kinto double-walled cup, perfect for both hot and cold brews. And if you prefer to stay a while, ceramic cups are available at no extra cost for those enjoying their coffee on-site. This initiative aligns with Single O’s goal to exceed 50 per cent reusable cup usage, reinforcing their position as a leader in sustainable coffee culture.

Located in the newly developed AXSH building, a vibrant hub designed for community and connection, Single O Shibuya offers a welcoming space for people from all walks of life. The venue spills out onto a spacious forecourt with concrete steps, providing the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while soaking in the lively atmosphere of Shibuya.

The coffee bar is located at 2-17-1 Shibuya, shibuya-ku, Tokyo SHIBUYA AXSH (close to Shibuya Station).
