Chiswick Woollahra will transform its sun-drenched lawn into a lively spring wine market - the restaurant’s first-ever event dedicated entirely to boutique Australian producers. Taking place on Saturday 25 October from midday until early evening, the one-day celebration promises an easygoing afternoon of tastings, seasonal food and live entertainment beneath the trees.
The Chiswick kitchen will be on hand with small plates designed to match the mood, from freshly shucked oysters and Moran Family Farm charcuterie to custard tarts and local cheeses from The Artisan Cheese Room.
For those chasing something beyond wine, there’ll be a St-Germain Spritz Bar pouring the French elderflower liqueur’s signature Hugo Spritz, plus a few clever cocktails like the Stealth Margarita and Burleigh x Budvar’s Czech Mates lager.
Fifteen wines will be available by the glass and bottle, featuring a line-up that reads like a tour of Australia’s most distinctive regions from the Hunter Valley’s Audrey Wilkinson and Orange’s De Salis, to Yangarra Estate in McLaren Vale and Werk Statt Wines in Mount Gambier.
Entry is $10 at the door and includes a keepsake tasting glass, with half of all entry profits supporting a local Woollahra community initiative. Food and wine will be available for purchase throughout the day.
