The Craft & Quilt Fair returns to Sydney this June, and if the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that the appetite for handmade, slow, and thoughtful creativity has never been stronger. Running from June 26 to 29 at the ICC Darling Harbour, the event is once again shaping up to be a four-day celebration of making.

What was once seen as a niche hobby is now part of everyday life for millions of Australians. While it may have garnered interest with a lockdown cross-stitch kit or a deep dive into #aussiecraft on Instagram, crafting has surged into the mainstream. The fair taps directly into this growing movement, offering both seasoned makers and total beginners the chance to learn, connect, and create.
This year’s program is loaded with hands-on workshops and live demos, from resin jewellery and foam clay mirrors to quilted labels and crystal earrings you can take home on the day.
There’s also the return of the Australian Quilt Show, where some of the country’s most intricate and powerful textile work will be on display. The 2025 themes, On the Map and Love is Red, are already drawing attention for their depth and scope.
The event also highlights the strength of local talent, with appearances from groups like the Sydney Modern Quilt Guild and artists such as Jake Henzler (Boy Knits World), Louise Saxton and Cathy Jack Coupland. If their sell-out Melbourne sessions are anything to go by, these workshops will fill up quickly.
And while the fair is a great place to shop for tools, supplies, and handmade pieces, it’s the sense of community that makes it special, no matter your skill level.
