The Milpa Collective has announced the re-launch of its iconic Bondi taqueria Taqiza in a new space, celebrating its sixth year. The Mexican cocktail bar will offer a refined selection of tequila, mezcal and creative cocktails along with their famous tacos.

The re-launch will see Taqiza remain a breath of fresh air for Bondi with the largest selection of mezcals in the area and a focus on their exhaustively researched library of agave spirits. They will offer experiences such as tastings, masterclasses with the best producers and mixologists in Mexico, presentations of new and rare agave spirits, spectacular pairings and more.

Taqiza Bondi new space

The good news is Taqiza will continue to offer a range of both classic and adventurous cocktails. The cocktail menu will be led by Luna Ercoli who is also Head Bartender at the recently launched Bar Lucia. Born in Rome, Ercoli developed a passion for mixology that took her across the globe at the age of 18 to discover new techniques, flavours and cultures. Luna worked in Spain at Paradiso Barcelona for a few years until she was given the opportunity to collaborate on Alquimico’s ‘From The Farm To The Bar’ project.

As the name ‘Taqiza’ translates to “taco party”, there is no doubt that the menu boasts a variety of different tacos. Key menu highlights include the Tuna Tostadas with leche de tigre, Grilled Octopus with zarandeado sauce and bone marrow corn esquites, Quesabirrias and their iconic Queso fundido with their secret Oaxaca cheese mix and honey. On the taco selection, Taqiza offers a range of mouth-watering delights such as the famous Mexico City staple Taco al Pastor, the south-Californian Baja Fish Tacos and the Blackened  Salmon Taco.
