Sydneysiders are in for a treat at the Emma Sleep Hotel rooftop, as the venue embarks on a gastronomic journey designed to optimise sleep. Emma Sleep’s global team of sleep scientists has joined forces with the culinary masters at The Strand in Darlinghurst to create a groundbreaking concept – the “Sleepgustation” menu.

From the 22nd to 25th of June, the Emma Sleep Hotel’s rooftop bar will be transformed into a haven of gastronomic delights. Diners will have the privilege of indulging in a seven-course shared degustation menu, meticulously crafted with scientifically-backed ingredients known to improve sleep quality.

The $60pp shared degustation menu has been created with sleep-inducing foods including potatoes served as fluffy pillow clouds, healthy-fat fish plated on shells with dry ice, and cherries resting between layers upon layers of sheets (pastry).

If you’re seeking a truly unique and unforgettable evening that combines culinary expertise with the science of sleep, mark your calendars and secure your spot at the Emma Sleep Hotel’s rooftop bar. Indulge in the Sleepgustation menu, and prepare to embark on a sensory journey like no other, where every bite brings you closer to a night of unparalleled sleep.

The Emma Sleep Hotel’s Sleepgustation

“We know that more than half of Australians struggle to fall asleep, and what you eat before you lay down for the night plays a vital role in how well you sleep. The Sleepgustation Menu is a delicious way of helping Aussies to understand the role that food plays in getting a good night of shut-eye,” said Emma Global’s resident Snooze-ologist Emma Merritt.

For those Sydneysiders who want to enjoy a delicious beverage (in moderation, of course!), the Emma Sleep Hotel rooftop bar will feature a custom cocktail list with sleep-centric ingredients such as chamomile, lavender, and hops. The seven signature cocktails will include:

  • Melon-tonin Marg: A strawberry and watermelon margarita. Strawberries contain a key ingredient that supports the creation of melatonin, a hormone that’s crucial in helping you sleep.
  • White Sbagliato: A classic cocktail reimagined with chamomile and honey to aid in restfulness and digestion while falling asleep.
  • Nanna Nap (Non-alc): Warm chai latte with house-made oat milk and pineapple caramel.

The Emma Sleep Hotel rooftop bar will be running a series of activities including an Emma Happy Hour from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of June, where the general public can enjoy $12 Sbagliato cocktails. Lucky people will be chosen at random to receive one of Emma’s award-winning pillows to take home.

The Emma Sleep Hotel rooftop bar will say goodnight with a Sunday Snooze Session with a Sbagliato and Snack special during the afternoon on the 25th of June.

Running from Thursday 22nd to Monday the 26th of June, The Emma Sleep Hotel will include 10 custom Sleep zzZ-uites uniquely designed by Emma’s global Dream Team of sleep experts and psychologists to cater to different types of sleepers. The Emma Sleep Hotel will educate guests on the best way to set themselves up for the ultimate snooze. Guests will be greeted at entry by a Snoreman, before heading to the hotel’s Rest-ception Desk to “tuck in”.
