After three years away from the stage, Brisbane band WAAX is back, kicking off the UR A RAT tour this August. It's gritty, intimate, and charged with the kind of raw energy that only a band like WAAX can deliver.

The five-stop East Coast tour is part of Jerry Can & A Van, the no-rules live music series by Sailor Jerry and Yours and Owls. WAAX, fronted by the ever-electric Maz De Vita, launches this new era with UR A RAT, a track that tears into betrayal and empowerment in equal measure.

True to Sailor Jerry’s roots in traditional tattoo culture, this tour also offers a chance to wear the music. Sydney fans will get a one-day-only flash tattoo pop-up by none other than Lauren Winzer, known for her bold, playful designs and work with global names. Winzer is collaborating closely with De Vita to fuse music and ink into a moment you can take home on your skin.

The tour opens at Brisbane’s Brightside on 29 August, then rolls through Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and finishes in Frankston mid-September.

Jerry Can & A Van is a tour that favours heart over hype, a tribute to the rebellious, unpolished spirit Sailor Jerry is known for. The rum itself carries that same energy: spiced, smooth and built for late nights. It’s available in all the usual spots, but it’s best served on the road, under stage lights and over shared stories.

Tickets are $39.95 via presale and $45 at the door.
